This is a very good copy of a rare and influential book by the great Mary Wollstonecraft. She was a remarkable woman in many ways but of course her written works are sought after.

This particular copy has another layer of interest perhaps one might say ironic in its nature in that this book once belonged to Samuel courtauld the man that employed so many poor women in his frightful mills.

His signature is at the top of the title page.

Since that time the book has been rebound in half leather with marbled boards and was quite neatly and solidly done. This means the book can be read and studied with ease. Internally the pages are generally very nice with a brightish cream colour as should be.

These things are getting rare now and are surely likely to increase in monetary value but as a document this work will always be of great value. 19 x 452 pages
