These are a trio of genuinely early artists brushes that came originally from a watercolour paint box.
 
You may have seen antique brushes advertised before but brushes of this type are offered rarely.
 
Although they came from a watercolour box is was not me that liberated them.
I would never remove items found in a box. Other people do unfortunately and I’m sure that you must at some time have seen items like paint blocks etc for sale that obviously came from a box.
I believe people do it to secure a better price by splitting up such things.
It is in my opinion a disgraceful practice.
 
As I am a trained Museums conservator I have over my forty years of collecting been offered groups of items like these that were liberated in the past.
 
These three are good brushes that still come to a point even though they are old and used.
They would be perfect in an antique paint box and really look the part.
