This tiny little box is only about 5mm thick and is a little Gem by name and quality.
It was made by the justly famous firm of Reeves and Son probably around the 1920s but could be a bit earlier or later.
Reeves are a very special business as it was they that actually invented and made the moist watercolour paint that is used by everyone today. Before their invention in the 18th century watercolours were rock hard and not easily worked but the great Mr Reeves cured that problem for us!
This tiny treasure has its original paint s with lots of life left in them and when used up the artist can simply cut a modern pan to size and then back to business!
With the good weather hopefully on its way this is a great little box to have in a pocket even a shirt pocket should be big enough to catch a special moment.
