It is truly amazing to me that such a little thing like this that no one would call sturdy lasts through time to us now.
It is genuinely a rare thing and by a famous maker.
Brodie and Middleton were a very successful company and located not far away from Roberson another giant of the artist materials world. This little box has both of its label’s intact and they’re nice and bright.
Some of the pans still have there protective covers in place which is unusual. I think that all the ceramic pans are original to the box which is nice. The colours are advertised as Glass painting paint’s though they do seem like watercolour but in fairness I’ve not tried them.
The box appears to be in great condition.
We also have here a good sized original Brodie and Middleton ceramic palette of the same sort of age. This has a repaired chip but remains in a very useable condition and at around 20cm it’s of a useful size. This little group may well make a very interesting addition to paints used in mixed media compositions and would certainly be quite unique.
