This is a half pan of the rare Genuine Emerald Green watercolour paint that has seen little use. This particular pan was supplied by Winsor and Newton and is of Bakelite. 
 
This of course is one of the toxic pigments and so of course must be handled ideally with gloves and done so responsibly.
This really means that the artist needs to apply a good helping of common sense.
 
Despite its toxicity it is a wonderful living green and I believe that we as artists should have the choice to use such pigments if we so desire. Despite this fleeting freedom this paint will never be made again.
