This is a half pan in Bakelite by Winsor and Newton of Genuine Vermilion. As you can see the pan has not seen much use so lots of life left in it.
 
This is of course one of the toxic pigments but I would not be without it. It has many uses in painting but for me it’s use in flesh colours is unrivalled and it appears the old masters thought so also.
 
If you have never used this pigment you are in for a treat when you do. Treat it responsibly and it will perform greatly for you.
