This is a really nice honest Watercolour box by the very famous Winsor and Newton.

It is one of there Miniature boxes officially but I alway refer to them as baby boxes as they are so small. Because of this I perhaps unprofessionally react to them with affection but that’s just me!
Winsor and Newton actually made a few of these smaller boxes the miniature in my experience is one of the rarer models.

This box has been used but looked after, yes there is some paint loss and some knocks here and there but it is to me a great survivor that just can’t wait to get back to work.

It does have a small flaw in that the words on the name plate giving the makers name have faded to a point where it can’t be read. However rest assured that this is by the illustrious makers.
To substantiate this and very rarely so this box still has the card that advertises the makers product and gives a list of the colours included. This card sat inside the lid when first purchased and in fact still does. It is a lovely addition.

Also what is an original travel brush in Sable I believe is present and as should be this is a quill brush. Quills being hollow enables the lovely little handle to be inserted into it. These brushes are not common and are quite valuable.

A few of the tiny paint blocks are missing including Emerald green but these blocks can easily be made by cutting the paint block inside a modern pan to fit. This works very well. Alternatively you could quite easily pour your own home made pads directly into it. If you do this be sure to wax the compartment before pouring your paint. You could also use foil if you wish.

These tiny boxes are a joy to use and I hope this one will soon have a new home.
